# Post from Laconi.ca to WordPress

[![Subscribed to Laconi.ca from my WordPress blog through OpenMicroBlogging](/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/laconi-ca-friend-my-blog-150x106.png "Subscribed to Laconi.ca from my WordPress blog through OpenMicroBlogging")](https://kaspars.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/laconi-ca-friend-my-blog.png) I have managed to add this blog as [a subscriber](http://identi.ca/kaspars/subscribers) to my [identi.ca account](http://identi.ca/kaspars). This means that I can post directly **from** [Identi.ca](http://identi.ca) (or *any other application* that supports [OpenMicroBlogging (OMB) protocol](http://openmicroblogging.org/ "OpenMicroBlogging specification by Evan Prodromou"), such as [Laconi.ca](http://laconi.ca/)) **to** my blog.

To achieve this I wrote a plugin that uses the power of [*XRDS-Simple*](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/xrds-simple/) plugin to generate *Yadis* document which specifies the location of *OAuth* and *postNotice*, as required by OMB (see [konstruktors.com/blog/?xrds](https://kaspars.net/blog/?xrds)). A modified version of [*WP-OAuth*](http://singpolyma.net/plugins/oauth/) plugin takes care of *OAuth* 1.0 dance (for the initial authorization and all the update notices) and adds support for receiving updates from the listenee (any *Laconi.ca* application on your phone, for example).

### Why This is Unique

It allows posting *directly **to** your blog from any of the laconi.ca (twitter like) applications*, and these updates are pushed to your blog in real time, just as if your blog was one of the *laconi.ca* users subscribed to your updates.

This could be very useful for live blogging. You could use all the tools which can now post to Laconi.ca — SMS, Jabber/Gtalk, e-mail and [various desktop and mobile apps](http://laconi.ca/trac/wiki/Apps) — to publish on your blog.

And with OBM everything happens (almost) instantaneously as opposed to RSS which has to be polled.
